    INSTRUCTIONS
    PETERSON READING 4-4-4: 3

    Meaning Phrases

    Students chorus along
    with a recording
    that pronounces
    each meaning phrase.

    Students copy and/or trace
    the printed phrases
    for the next
    eight repetitions.

    Students hear and speak
    each phrase twelve times:
    4 times chorusing aloud
    8 times with inner speech

    Students gradually learn
    the letter and word sounds
    in meaningful contexts.

    Successes encourage them
    to try new sounds.

    Students learn meaningful phrases
    that comprise 90 percent
    of our language.

    Students read with the recording
    at normal speaking speeds,
    rather than slow
    sound it out” techniques.

    There are few baby words.

    This is real reading.

    Students immediately
    feel they are readers,
    and they are.

    INSTRUCTIONS
    ACCELERATED THINKING 5-5-5: 4

    Improves upon students’
    reading, writing
    and speaking skills.

    Teaches academic subjects
    through a series of listening,
    note-taking,
    tell-backs and fast-writes.

    Allows new information
    to be processed and stored
    before it is overwritten
    by later material.

    Can be used by teachers
    to deliver any lesson
    and by parents
    to help children study.

    Teachers can prepare recordings
    of textbook chapters
    or use any available
    audio lessons.

    INSTRUCTIONS:

    1. Students listen to a live
    or recorded reading
    and take notes
    on a memory pattern
    or sheet of guide phrases
    for 5 minutes.

    2. Students tell-back
    to a partner
    from their notes
    for 5 minutes.

    EDUCATIONAL SIMPLICITY 1

    Meaning Clusters

    What degree

    of simplicity
    do we need
    in education?

    Students must focus
    on learning

    rather than listening

    to the teacher talk.

    Variety scatters
    student thoughts.

    It clutters their minds
    with meaningless information.

    Disorganized presentations
    disengage students.

    They are too busy

    learning new instructions
    instead of new material.

    Students need

    a consistent structure
    and clarity.

    Random stimuli
    already fill

    many children’s lives.

    Teach children

    more effectively
    by only changing
    the information.

    Let computers handle
    the complex task
    of delivering
    the information
    .

    Let teachers handle
    the simple task
    of deciding
    what the students
    need to learn
    .
